Josh and Greer's Wedding Ceremony
Good afternoon, everyone!
HAPPY FOURTH of JULY!!!!!
What a great day for a wedding.
I would like to begin by giving
you a VERY warm welcome!
THANK YOU for being here on the
happiest of days to witness
and celebrate the marriage of
Josh and Greer!
<break before the wedding party procession>
We ask kindly during the procession for everyone to turn off their cell phones and recording.
Now we are going to welcome the wedding party
<wedding party comes in>
<All in the front and Bride ready to walk>
All RISE!

<her Mother and I>

This is not the beginning of a new relationship
but a recognition of the next chapter in their lives together.
Josh and Greer have spent years getting to know each other,
And we now bear witness to what
their relationship has become.
10 years to this day, they met and fell in love.
TODAY, they will affirm this bond formally and publicly.
Josh and Greer will mark their transition as a couple
by celebrating the love between themselves,
AND with the love of their family, and dearest friends.
Without that love, today would be far less meaningful.
Thank you for being here with us!
The dream, the vision, and the execution of this occasion
at this perfect time and location,
surrounded by the beauty in this room, with this beautiful couple…
This is a magical memory
for us all.
It is clear that Josh and Greer
value their guests in special ways.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity
to share your dream.
I think I know most of you here today.
For those of you whom I haven’t met, my name is Frankie Jackson.
I am Greer’s Aunt.
She has always been my “Greer Girl.”
Her mother, Toni, and I
have shared most memories of life including high school years, motherhood, the passing of loved ones, and
many other of life’s trials and tribulations.
I am honored to be here to support Josh and Greer’s wedding dream.
Toni will be honored today with Josh wearing the wedding ring her father wore during her parents 52 years of marriage.
It is our dream that Josh will cherish Greer in the same way that Jack cherished Anneene.
The most remarkable moment in life is when you meet the person who makes you feel complete.
The person who makes the world a beautiful and magical place.
The person with whom you share a bond so special that it transcends normal relationships and becomes something so pure and so wonderful, that you can’t imagine spending another day of your life without them.
We know how deeply these two cares for and love one another.
We feel privileged to be here as a witness of their commitment to a lifetime of love for one another.
In order to send you off to explore this new chapter,
I researched couples with successful marriages and asked them what they think the secret is.
Couples that have been married 40 years said commitment.
Couples that have been married 30 years said patience.
Couples that have been married 20 years said have fun.
Couples married 12 years or less said it’s OK to end the day mad because tomorrow is always
a new day.
AND
Be understanding as you work through differences because marriage is an adjustment as you experience your personal growth and development as a couple.
Prior to this ceremony, we asked Josh, what is your favorite thing about Greer:
He said, she is gorgeous.
She is the most caring person I know, and she is always looking out for me.
AND her eyes – they melt me!
When asking Greer what her favorite thing about Josh is,
she said:
He makes me feel safe and important,
His eyes and eyelashes, and
His laugh!
So, without further ado…
The bride and groom have prepared their wedding vows.
They will read their vows now.
GREER:
Thinking about the last 10 years is surreal for me. I was 21 when we met and since then we have been through so much together.
I even remember telling you that if my family didn’t like you, we would never work. Little did I know, they would fall in love with you as effortlessly as I did.
Who would’ve thought that a first kiss shared on the 4th of July in 2012 would lead to our wedding day 10 years later? I cherish the life we have built together.
When we sing in the garage to as many songs as we can, talk in our little voices, snuggle, enjoy a driveway fire, laugh until we cry, or have a lazy day at home cleaning and cooking, I am constantly reminded of how much I love you and how far we’ve come. I realize I’m not perfect, but that never stops you from treating me like I am.
Thank you for loving me even when I make it difficult because I’m being unreasonably strong willed, hardheaded or to put it nicely…grumpy.
You always do your best to help and support me through everything. The man you are today is one that I admire and respect endlessly.
There is no doubt in my mind that you are smarter and funnier than you’ll ever give yourself credit for and are truly one of a kind in the way you love not only me, but everyone around you. I promise to show you that I love you and that you’ll never have to question how I feel.
I promise to continue making you laugh because I love the sound of your laugh. I promise my commitment to you, and us every single day.
I promise to protect you endlessly and be there for you when you need me. All these things I promise and so much more…Here I am, still tangled up in you.
JOSH:
What a way to celebrate 10 years together.
Although you and I have been together a decade, it seems that just a few months ago we made horrible French bread pizza at the condo. How the years have flown. We’ve seen our share of troubles but our love for each other has carried us through the toughest times. It’s quite obvious that you’re the most patient woman I know, and I thank you for that.
Thank you for being my hardheaded pain in my butt. It keeps me out of trouble (when I listen). You always have my best interest in mind, one of the many things I love about you. You have a way of comforting me by finding the silver lining in every bad situation.
You’ve always had my six and I’ll always have yours.
I tell you all the time, “You’re my favorite person” and I mean it. I’m excited to see what our future holds. I promise that I will always protect you and make you feel safe.
I vow to show you that I love you, every day.
And… I’ll do my best to decide what’s for dinner.
Thank you for being my forever.
And NOW for the formality of your wedding ceremony.
Greer, do you take Josh to be your husband?
Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him forsaking all others, and holding only unto him forevermore?
<she says I DO>
Josh, do you take Greer to be your wife?
Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect her forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?
<he says I DO>
And now for the RINGS.
GREER
Do you give this ring to Josh?
as a symbol of your love?
<she says I DO>
JOSH
Do you give this ring to Greer?
as a symbol of your love?
<he says I DO>
To make your relationship work will take a lot of love.
Take time to show each other that your love and marriage grows stronger with time.
It will take trust to know that in your hearts, you truly want what is best for each other.
It will take dedication to stay open to one another –
and to learn and grow together.
Continue to date and have fun over the course of your lifetime!
It will take loyalty to go forward together,
without knowing exactly what the future brings.
And it will take commitment to hold true to the journey
you have both pledged today.
And now by the power vested in me by the state of Texas,
It is my honor to pronounce you married as husband and wife.
Go forth and live each day
in love, to the fullest.
Josh, you may kiss your beautiful bride.
Turnaround…..
I am so pleased to present the newlyweds, JOSH AND GREER!
